Level 1

The first level is a bustling hub featuring the new and popular collection, a spacious multipurpose event room, a gallery, a demonstration kitchen, a holds pick-up area and a circulation service point.

The main entrance is situated on 2nd Avenue North near 24th Street East. Public elevators and a central staircase are strategically located at the heart of the building, connecting all levels and providing patrons with an intuitive navigation experience.

Amenities include various seating options, public washrooms, public computers, study carrels, laptop lending, water fountains with bottle fillers, and printing, copying and faxing services. There are also catalogue computers and quick-checkout machines available.

New & Popular Collection

Located adjacent to the entrance the new materials collection makes browsing a breeze. It is surrounded by a mix of seating and a laptop bar.

Gallery

A gallery space will feature the work of new and emerging artists. Designed to allow for flexibility in how exhibitions are displayed, it has a suspended ceiling grid and flexible lighting and sound options.

This space will host a wide range of events and activities that bring the community together.

Demonstration Kitchen

The demonstration kitchen will host programs that support health and nutrition literacy. It contains commercial-grade cooking equipment and will be a hands-on learning opportunity for people of all ages.
